Familiar nursery rhyme characters paraded through the halls of Cottonwood Elementary School in Paola on Friday, as kindergartners dressed up to cap off their most recent unit in style.

Other students, teachers and parents lined the hallways to catch a glimpse of the costumed children during their parade.

Everyone from Little Bo Beep and Little Miss Muffet to Three Little Indians and Jack and Jill were spotted marching along with their classmates.

Kindergarten teacher Jenny Nash said the event was planned to finish off a recent unit on nursery rhyme characters.
