Area residents should take advantage of the chance to catch a bird’s eye view of the surrounding countryside Saturday at the Miami County Airport Association’s annual Airport Day.
Local pilots will provide rides from 8 to 11:30 a.m. A donation of $20 per person is requested. Twenty dollars is a small price to pay, and it’s a great opportunity for a boy or a girl to take their first flight. So bring out the kids and make Saturday a family day at the airport.
A car show also will take place at the airport from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Whether you’re taking an airplane ride or checking out a classic car, support the Miami County Airport Association’s efforts to provide a wholesome family outing.
It will be a busy weekend in Miami County. In addition to Airport Day, the Louisburg Cider Mill will host the second weekend of its annual Ciderfest on Saturday and Sunday. The festival will include musical entertainment, 60 craft booths, and rides and activities for the kids.
While you’re out and about Sunday, 4D Acres emu farm in rural Louisburg, Prothe’s Pecan Farm in rural Paola and Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery near Somerset will have special activities throughout the day.
Take advantage of these opportunities to enjoy a weekend in the country.
