Introducing the homecoming candidates
Group of King and Queen hopefuls have been involved in a variety of activities throughout high school
Natalie Scroggie:
Natalie is the daughter of Carl and Becky Scroggie. She has participated in basketball (freshman), soccer (freshman through senior), received a soccer letter (sophomore and junior), softball (freshman), spirit squad (freshman through senior), spirit squad captain (sophomore and junior), developmental leadership (senior), drama club (freshman through senior), drama club officer (junior and senior), drama productions (freshman through senior), FCCLA (senior), forensics (sophomore through senior), madrigals (sophomore through senior), National Honor Society (senior), thespians (junior and senior), varsity choir (sophomore through senior), Who’s Who Among High School Students (freshman), and won the state competition in forensics for duet acting (senior). She is currently undecided on her college plans.
Hannah Ozier:
Hannah is the daughter of John and Mandy Ozier. She has participated in drama club (freshman through senior), drama productions (freshman through senior), FCA (senior), forensics (sophomore through senior), KAYS (senior), mentorship (senior), National Honor Society (junior and senior), Panther yearbook (junior and senior), Quill and Scroll Society (junior and senior), Rat Pack (freshman through junior), SADD (sophomore), student council (sophomore), thespians (sophomore through senior), and Youth Friends (senior). She plans to attend either Kansas State University or Benedictine College and major in either anthropology or history.
Sarah Berner:
Sarah is the daughter of Bob and Sylvia Berner. She has participated in cross-country (freshman through senior), cross country captain (junior and senior), lettered in cross country (freshman through senior), track (freshman through junior), lettered in track (freshman through junior), FCA (freshman and senior), FCA officer (senior), Girl’s State (senior), KAYS (freshman and sophomore), National Honor Society (senior), Rat Pack (freshman through senior), Robotics (freshman and sophomore), spirit squad (sophomore through senior), lettered in spirit squad (sophomore through senior), student council (freshman through senior), varsity choir (freshman and sophomore), and was a state qualifier for track (sophomore and junior) and cross-country all-league (freshman). She plans to attend Kansas State University and major in physical therapy.
Megan Hayes:
Megan is the daughter of David and Debbie Hayes. She has participated in basketball (freshman through senior), lettered in basketball (junior and senior), basketball captain (senior), volleyball (freshman through senior) volleyball all-league (junior), lettered in volleyball (sophomore through senior), swimming (sophomore and junior), developmental leadership (junior and senior), drama club (senior), FBLA (freshman and sophomore), FCA (freshman and senior), football statistician (senior), KAYS (freshman through senior), SADD (freshman through senior), SADD officer (senior), and student council (senior). She is currently undecided on her college plans.
Wil Cunningham:
Wil is the son of Walter and Shelly Cunningham. He has participated in soccer (freshman through senior), soccer captain (junior and senior), lettered in soccer (sophomore through senior), track (freshman through senior), lettered in track (junior), FCA (senior), madrigals (sophomore through senior), Rat Pack (sophomore through senior), Reporter (senior), SADD (junior and senior), student council (senior), varsity choir (sophomore through senior), powder puff cheerleader (junior), and lettered in choir (junior and senior). He plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in either physical therapy or psychology.
Tyler Peterson:
Tyler is the son of Pete and Kenna Peterson. He has participated in Boy’s State (junior), drama club (freshman through senior), developmental leadership (senior), drama productions (junior and senior), FBLA (junior), fall homecoming attendant (junior), Quill and Scroll Society (junior and senior), reporter (sophomore through senior), SADD (junior and senior), student council (junior), prom server, and Reporter editor-in-chief. He plans to attend either DePaul University or the University of Missouri-Columbia and double major in journalism and creative writing.
Chris Smreker:
Chris is the son of Dave and Debbie Smreker. He has participated in track (freshman through junior), was a junior class officer, madrigals (sophomore through senior), junior prom prince, Rat Pack (junior), varsity choir (sophomore through senior), powder puff cheerleader (junior), and lettered in choir (junior and senior). He plans to attend Kansas State University and major in mechanical engineering.
Hayden Mersman: Hayden is the son of Jim and Cindy Mersman. He has participated in baseball (freshman), lettered in baseball (sophomore), basketball (freshman and sophomore), lettered in basketball (junior), lettered in tennis (junior), Boy’s State (senior), FFA (sophomore), fall homecoming attendant (sophomore), KAYS (junior and senior), National Honor Society (senior), student council (junior), student council officer (senior), and was a volleyball manager (senior). He plans to attend the University of Kansas and is thinking about majoring in psychology.
