To the Caring Community of Louisburg,

Thank you so much to the 228 people who came out Sept. 23 for the Chris Cakes Pancake Supper in support of the Greater Houston Area Red Cross, sponsored by Louisburg Cares. We all had a great time enjoying Steve Hamilton’s delicious food, and we received $1,441 for the support of the efforts of the Red Cross to provide relief for the residents of southeast Texas.

Thanks also to Superintendent Rick Doll and USD 416 for allowing us to use the cafeteria at the wonderful Rockville Elementary School, and to Principal Becky Bowes and all the staff at Rockville Elementary for hosting us. The site was perfect and allowed so many to see the school for the first time.

I appreciate John Cleek posting releases on the Louisburg Community Web site (louisburgksonline@yahoogroups.com) and all our churches for promoting the event in their congregations.

These are tough times in the Gulf Coast region of our country, and our community has again, in a very tangible and useful way, expressed its ongoing concern for our fellow Americans.

Thank you all for your participation, dollars and interest.

Sandy Harris
