Louisburg put its best foot forward
Editorial

Louisburg resident Mary Rockers laughed and joked with friends while she enjoyed a game of bingo Monday afternoon during the annual Labor Day celebration at American Legion Park.
“My mother-in-law from Greeley always comes for bingo and the chicken dinner,” Rockers said. “It’s a family affair.”
The Rockers are not unlike many Louisburg families who host relatives and friends during the community’s four-day celebration, which kicks off with tractor and truck pulls on Friday night at Lewis-Young Park and culminates with a parade on Broadway Street and a community celebration in American Legion Park on Monday.
The Louisburg American Legion John P. Hand Post No. 250, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion put on another excellent Labor Day celebration.
The community put its best foot forward once again, and the Legion and its affiliates are a big reason why this celebration continues to grow in popularity each year — not only with longtime and new residents in Louisburg, but also with dozens of citizens from neighboring communities who are embracing our community’s annual celebration as their own.
Visitors frequently commented on the hospitality they were extended during their stay in our community last weekend, and that’s a tribute to residents who take great pride in representing our city so well.
