Maxwells mark 70th anniversary
Anniversary
Charles and Jane Maxwell of Louisburg celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at home with their family over dinner.
Charles Maxwell and Jane Hancock were married Sept. 4, 1938, in Branson, Mo. They lived in Columbus, Kan., at the time of their marriage. They have also lived in Siloam Springs, Ark., Emerald Bay, Texas, and Lawrence, Kan., before settling in Louisburg.
Mr. Maxwell was employed at the Maxwell Bridge Company. Mrs. Maxwell’s occupation was that of a fabulous wife and mother.
Their children are Edd Maxwell of Stanley, John Maxwell of Santa Fe, N.M., Jan Houser of Columbus, and Ellen Maxwell of Louisburg. They also have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The couple has been in love since the first day they met. Mrs. Maxwell had been told by a gypsy fortune teller that she would meet a dark, handsome stranger. Two weeks later, she met her husband.
