Frances L. Cassida Gates, 81, Merriam, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, in Overland Park Regional Medical Center. A native of Osawatomie, she graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1945. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William F. Gates of the home, and three children. Services were July 3 in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley. Memorials are to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
