District Seeking New Members

The Miami County Conservation District invites you to become a member of the new 2008 Affiliate Membership Program to help educate residents to make conscious decisions and to care for natural resources.

Each year the conservation district sponsors a variety of activities to teach and make conscious decisions regarding natural resources. Some of the activities include Mad 4 Ag Day for county fourth-graders, Earth Day for fifth- and sixth-graders and the Hillsdale Water Quality Festival.

In addition there are annual conservation poster, limerick and speech contests. These activities are available to all schools in the county, homeschooled children, scouts, 4-H groups and others with an interest in natural resources.

In addition the conservation district is planning a tour to show conservation practices landowners have implemented.

If you would like to be a part of conservation programs, call the Miami County Conservation District at 294-3751 ext. 3 to obtain an application form.

The completed form and a $25 donation will get you a certificate, your name or company name listed in the annual program and an annual conservation edition of the newspaper.

If you have questions or suggestions about the Affiliate Membership, call Jenny or Mark at 294-3751 ext. 3.
