Hearings


Dustin E. Floyd was charged with aggravated battery and battery in connection to an incident on June 23. A preliminary hearing was scheduled today.

Scott R. Wilson was charged with aggravated assault, criminal threat, battery and criminal damage to property. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 24.

Amber D. Bounds was charged possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a minor. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. July 24.

The court continued the following cases. Defendants, charges and new hearing dates are: Leslie G. Randall III, criminal trespass, 11:15 a.m. July 24; Troy D. Johns, possession of marijuana, 2 p.m. Aug. 7; Adam C. Smith, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no liability insurance and tag violation, 1:45 p.m. Aug. 28; Shawn E. Howerton, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, 9 a.m. Aug. 19; Colton J. Stefens, minor in consumption of alcohol, 9 a.m. July 29; James N. Gochenour Jr., minor in consumption of alcohol and open container, 10 a.m. Sept. 2; Joshua D. Lawless, battery, 2:15 p.m. Aug. 21; Jessica Gonzales, forgery and theft, 11 a.m. Aug. 21; Kristi R. Golding, probation revocation, 11:45 a.m. July 31; Kyle D. Hankins, diversion revocation, 9 a.m. Aug. 26; Bruce G. Howell, giving a worthless check, 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12; Charles H. Dispositions

A diversionary agreement was reached in the case against Neal W. Plummer. If he completes the terms of the agreement, a charge of battery will be dismissed.

Justin B. Eckert was found guilty of obstructing the legal process and was sentenced to 12 months in prison and 12 months probation. The court suspended the sentence and placed him on probation for one year to be served consecutively to another case.

Arturo Sosa stipulated to violating a diversionary agreement. The court revoked his diversionary agreement and sentenced him to 90 days in jail. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. Sosa was placed on diversion in May for domestic battery.

A diversionary agreement was reached in the case against Andrew J. Moll. If he completes the terms of the agreement, a charge of minor in consumption of alcohol will be dismissed.

Anthony L. Cooper was found guilty on his fifth offense of driving while under the influence, obstructing the legal process and driving while his license was suspended. A charge of criminal damage to property was dismissed. The court sentenced Cooper to 180 days in jail and one year in prison for the DUI, and 180 days in jail for each of the two remaining charges. The misdemeanor charges will be served concurrently to the felony charge. Other terms of the sentence include probation for one year and $2,600 in fines.

Stephen Shumate stipulated to violating his probation. The court revoked his probation and sentenced him to serve 30 days in the county jail, beginning Aug. 1, and reinstated his probation for one year. He was on probation for a second DUI conviction.

The court revoked probation for Tyler W. Nevius and reinstated it for one year. Nevius received credit for time served, but is subject to alcohol and drug observation for 60 days. He was on probation for possession of marijuana.

The court revoked probation for Paul F. Guthrie Jr. and remanded him to serve his original sentence of 23 months in prison for aggravated battery. The court had originally suspended the prison term and had placed him on supervised probation for two years and a year of probation. In another battery case, the court revoked Guthrie’s probation and remanded him to serve his original sentence of six months in the county jail.
