After leading their team to a 13-1 record, the state championship run and the Frontier League title, several of the seniors on the Louisburg football team have been honored by league coaches and selected to the all-league team.

“We had a hard-working group who had a lot of success and the league coaches noticed it,” said coach Gary Griffin.

On the first team all-league offense, Zach Crow and Ryan Mendon represented the Wildcats on the line and Jason Spradling and Derrick Rowan garnered spots at running back.

Coaches honored Cody Vail as all-league kicker.

Duncan Robinson earned a spot on the second team for his play on the line. Coaches selected Jeff Woods to lead the second team at quarterback and Colby Kueser for running back and wide receiver.

Center Jake Darrington and tight end Matt Lemke both earned spots on the honorable mention team.

On the defensive side of the ball, coaches awarded George Bazin with a spot on first team for his defensive line play, and Rowan and Jacob Jenkins both earned spots at linebacker. Jared Drew rounded out the Wildcats first-teamers at defensive back.

Crow and Kueser garnered recognition on the second-team defense — Crow for his work on the line and Kueser for his play at defensive back.

Lemke (line), Lucas Bindi (linebacker), Spradling (defensive back) and Todd Richardson (defensive back) all made honorable-mention defense.

As the team's punter, Drew earned honorable-mention honors.

" These nominations didnt do some of the kids justice... 7 INT, 3 Fumble Recoveries, and 2 Defensive TD's and the kid only got honorable mention? "

" to the first question , how do the pro's on decent but not undeafeted teams make it to the Pro Bowl ? it's not all about one team ! it's kids that have a good year ! "

" The Louisburg nominations look good but other frontier league teams that are 5-4 or less I do not understand how they can have so many players make it. Sure would like to know how the nominations are done. "
